Prof. Dr. univ. Arsène Verny, M.E.S.
After studying German, European and International law, world-economics and European affairs, Professor Verny ran the Prague branch of the international law firm Gaedertz Rechtsanwälte (now CMS Hasche Sigle) from 1993 to 2001.
Professor Verny has many years of experience in advising and representing companies, associations and public institutions in the field of international and supranational commercial law as well as in the field of international arbitration and representation before national and European courts of law. In the area of German law, Professor Verny is among others specialised in commercial and corporate law, commercial private law and distribution law.
He was responsible as Principal Advisor on behalf of the European Commission in the context of the eastward enlargement for the adoption of the acquis communautaire in the national legal systems. After years of working as Jean Monnet Professor of European Law, Full Professor and Honorary and Visiting Professor at various European universities, Professor Verny teaches as an honorary professor at the renowned Danube University Krems (Donau-Universität Krems) the innovative specialisation International Dispute Resolution. He also works as an external consultant for the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD.
